Dear Friends & Neighbors,
(Please click on red links & note magenta)
I enjoy covering snowboarding event of the Winter Olympics 2018 because it is such a phenomenal and gutsy event….watching our favorite Flying Tomato (Shaun White) pushing the limit!
Shaun White, the three-time gold medalist, from California, in the Winter Olympics 2018-Snowboarding event at men’s Halfpipe finals in PyeongChang, South Korea, continues to amaze us. Shaun White is an American professional snowboarder, skateboarder and musician. He is a three-time Olympic gold medalist. He is the oldest, at age 31, of all of the contestants for this event. He holds the record for the most X-Games gold medals and most Olympic gold medals by a snowboarder, and has won 10 ESPY Awards.
Snowboarding is a recreational activity and Olympic and Paralympic sport that involves descending a snow-covered slope while standing on a snowboard attached to a rider’s feet. The development of snowboarding was inspired by skateboarding, sledding, surfing and skiing. It was developed in the United States in the 1960s, became a Winter Olympic Sport at Nagano in 1998 and first featured in the Winter Paralympics at Sochi in 2014. Its popularity (as measured by equipment sales) in the United States peaked in 2007 and has been in a decline since.
