Coalition For the Homeless of Central Florida Offer Shelter Cold Nights
Dear Friends & Neighbors,
(Please click on red links & note magenta)
Coalition for the Homeless of Central Florida was making space on Wednesday, Jan. 17 and Thursday, Jan. 18, 2018, for those homeless to stay in the shelter on those chilly nights. Spokeswoman Traci Morris said the coalition will provide additional aid as time goes on. “They’ll come in, they’ll have a dinner, a warm meal for dinner and they can take a shower. They’ll have a warm blanket and just space to kind of spread out a little bit. The next morning we’ll serve breakfast.” The Coalition for the Homeless of Central Florida has a new downtown Orlando facility (639 W. Central Blvd., Orlando, FL, 407-426-1250, opens from 9:00 am-5:00 pm) and will open at 7:00 pm for men, women, and families. Photo above is of Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer and Orange County Mayor Teresa Jacobs (center) among those who cut the ribbon at the Coalition for the Homeless’s new downtown Orlando facility.
For those of us who have a warm home to go to, let’s think of ways to help Coalition for the Homeless of Central Florida: donations of clothing, blankets, beddings, food, time, and any thing you can think of or by visiting their web site HERE and keep in mind that they accept donations Monday through Saturday, 9:00 am-5:00 pm, at the reception desk in their Center for Women and Families. Call 407-426-1250 and find out what they need the most.
