Class For Gardening for Pollinators at Leu Gardens

Don’t forget that on Saturday, June 3, 2017, between 1:30 pm-3:00 pm, EDT, at Harry P. Leu Gardens, at 1920 N. Forest Ave., Orlando, FL 32803, there will be “Gardening for Honey Bee Nutrition & Native Pollinators” with Instructor Chris Stalder. The class will cost $8 for members and $14 for non-members. Find out what plants are larval food sources for some of the larger colorful native butterflies and which plants to grow to keep them around for the nectar when they are adults. Learn how to make your own native bee nests and how to garden for honey bees. Explore how you can landscape to attract hummingbirds to your garden as they migrate through Central Florida.
Christopher Stalder is a graduate of the University of Florida and has worked with the U.S. Dept. of Agriculture. He is also an environmental scientist, a butterfly gardener, a backyard beekeeper and a member of the Florida State Beekeepers Association. He offers natural history programs around the state on many subjects including herpetology, butterfly gardening and beekeeping.
Continuing Education Units (CEUs) are available to FNGLA Certified Professionals upon request.
Participants must withdraw from classes at least five days prior to the start of class in order to receive a full refund or credit. If we must cancel a class, we will make every effort to inform you prior to the class time, and you will receive a full refund or credit.
Only those registered for the class will be permitted in the classroom. Childcare services are not provided.
